"Voter registration deadlines in some states come as soon as October 8—Mississippi and South Carolina have an October 8 deadline for all forms of registration, while in Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington state, October 8 is the deadline to register by mail but you have more time to register in person. Not necessarily a lot more time, though—in Arizona, the deadline for registering in person is October 10. The key battleground states of Florida and Ohio have an October 11 deadline."
