Republicans are against the things that are proven to actually reduce abortions, like birth control and education. But once a woman gets pregnant, they want to make sure she has no say over her own medical decisions – and indeed, if she’s raped, she and her partner will be forced to carry to term. If Republicans really cared about abortion, of course, they would not be going all out to make sure Planned Parenthood loses funding and health insurance won’t cover birth control.
